"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world" Nelson Mandela.
I welcome you all to this great institution of learning which has moulded the destiny of thousands of students over the last few decades, for a better tomorrow. As we step into new academic session 2020-21, filled with hope and dreams of touching new heights. I want to emphasize the importance of few things that we have to keep in mind. Maintaining the discipline and being within the decency limits is the hallmark of any educational institution. The academic institution is as sacred as any mosque or temple. To protect its every brick or any piece of infrastructure is our moral and sacred duty.
All of us has to work together to preserve our heritage and environment for ourselves as well as for future generations. There is urgent need to protect our students from drug abuse. Our youngsters should not surrender or become a slave to youthful fancies and indulgences. The drug abuse is like a deadly anaconda that embraces any one only to choke to death and then consume. We at Govt. Degree College Handwara are doing our best to improve our infrastructure. The Bio-Technology, Bio-Chemistry and Electronics Laboratories are fully functional from the current academic session. The newly introduced subjects (Bio-Technology, Bio-Chemistry, Electronics, BBA, Applied Mathematics and Kashmiri) are fully approved by the Kashmir University and J&K Higher Education Department. The College has been approved by MHRD for upgradation to “Model College” and is likely to receive a grant of Rs.4.00 Crore for the upgradation of its infrastructure.
These are the small developments that have been materialized by the efforts of all the stake holders to improve the academic landscape of the College. Mankind did not come out of Stone Age by removing each stone from the world. The transition has been achieved by innovation and constantly adding new techniques to the world. We are fast moving from a more protective and cozy employee society towards a more challenging and demanding entrepreneurship society. We are committed to be a leader in the advance of human resource development and the innovative techniques that will contribute to the states wealth creation as well as inculcate values and ethics in our society.
Wish our students all success in their endeavour.
Stay Blessed
